Nearly everyone suffers from acne at some point in their lives, but for individuals with severe, persistent acne, daily life can be difficult. Teens and adults are both subject to feel unhappiness with appearance due to acne. While over-the-counter creams and lotions can help some, others require additional care. Dr. Wiltz is proud to offer several acne treatments to help patients enhance their appearance and overcome the emotional distress that acne can cause.
- Laser for Psoriasis
More than seven million men and women in the United States suffer from psoriasis, a skin condition characterized by itching, burning, blistering and crusting of the skin. Patients who suffer from psoriasis deal with daily discomfort as well as embarrassment. Although there is no cure for the condition, Dr. Wiltz can provide several advanced treatment to alleviate the symptoms. The most common treatments are topical medications, oral or injectable medication, and he offers laser treatment. The treatments are painless and take only a few minutes, twice a week, for several weeks.
- Removal of Birthmarks and Moles
Oversized birthmarks and large moles can both cause people to feel self-conscious about their appearance. Dr. Wiltz can remove the moles and birthmarks by surgical excision. Although most moles are harmless, some can be pre-cancerous. Dr. Wiltz encourages patients to look for warning signs, including changes in the size, shape or color of moles. He performs through evaluations and cancer screenings.
- Skin Cancer
Skin cancer affects nearly one in five Americans during their lifetime. A serious condition that should be treated as early as possible. Skin cancer can present itself in a variety of shapes, color, sizes and textures. It’s important to closely monitor any changes. Risk factor for skin cancer include pale skin, family history of melanoma, being over 40 years old and regular skin exposure.
Common types of skin cancer include:
1: Basal Cell Carcinoma – 80 – 85 percent of all skin cancers. Affects cells in the lowest layer of the epidermis.
2: Squamous Cell Carcinoma – 10 percent of all skin cancers. Affects cells in the middle layer of the epidermis.
3: Melanoma – 5 percent of all skin cancers. Melanoma is a rare but very dangerous type of skin cancer. It is the leading cause of the death from skin disease.
Cosmetic Procedures:
Botox – Injections are the most commonly performed procedure in the United States. Injections of Botox relax facial muscles and lessen dynamic wrinkles. Botox creates a more youthful, rejuvenated appearance.
Dermal Fillers – Our office offers the latest FDA approved facial fillers to fill depressed acne scars, lines and wrinkles, restore facial volume and contour, enhance, and reshape your lips for a more youthful appearance (Juvederm and Radiesse).
Skin Resurfacing CO2 Laser – Laser is a new treatment for wrinkles around the eyes, acne scar removal, age and sunspots, and sun damaged skin. With this laser, you will feel the difference in your skin as it gradually becomes softer, smoother and fresher. Fine lines around your eyes will noticeably fade. Your friends and family will marvel at how youthful and healthy your skin looks.
Laser Hair Removal – A FDA approved process for permanently reducing or eliminating unwanted hair on almost any part of the body except near the eyes. The laser uses a low-energy laser, which passes through the patient’s skin, being absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicle to eliminate the hair. Approximately three to six treatments are necessary.
